That is funny. Doesn't matter where it goes. Someone is going to complain.
Hilarious, all you need to do now is just add a nice little space ship in the mix and allow us to be able to shoot at it while we complain.
Oh My GOSH! Jim, I laughed SO Hard at that! and in theory, you are doing what they have asked for! Moving the google bar!!! (this is Alison, btw)
It's awful. Just put it off to a corner. I hate the beautiful picture being destroyed by it.
how about an interactive google bar - one you can grab and drop anywhere you like
And the complaining starts, already. Perhaps have the bar be movable, by the individual, so they can place it, where they choose.
I like the face that it is almost out of the way but can't it be moved to the top or bottom out of the pic? The pictures are amazing but they just seem to get disturbed by that dang search bar.
My wife would like a warning if there's going to be another giant spider picture. :) I just made startlike my homepage a few days ago. The photos are great. I like it more than I expected. The squares with more information are really interesting. A movable Google bar would be great but I haven't found it to be much of a distraction.
mocking the beta testers...nice
dan - we mock ourselves all the time man and we don't take life too seriously. In fact, the only thing we take seriously is our corporate mission to create friendships.
This is intended in the spirit of good fun and whether you like the Google bar placement or not, if we can't laugh together in good fun we're just not meant for each other.
We have literally addressed this issue so many times we felt taking a stab at a more tongue in cheek response was worth a shot. We're not gonna move it right now for the reasons discussed on the blog and if that's a mistake we'll die by our sword....metaphorically speaking.
what if the search box only showed up when your mouse moves over it? This would free up the entire background picture.
I second that. Is there a way to allow us to set a hot spot that reveals the Google bar when we roll over it with the mouse?
